lovelight & co.

a candle and a question.

We make small rituals that help people slow down and say what matters. Light a candle, draw a card, and have the conversation you’ve been meaning to have.

“we should talk sometime.”

Most people mean it. Then the dishes, the phones and the week get in the way. Nobody lacks love. What’s missing is a way in: a moment, a prompt, and enough safety to say the true thing.

The candle marks the time as set apart. The card gives you the words. Together they turn “we should talk sometime” into an actual evening.

what we believe

  • Closeness is built on conversation, and conversation is built on attention.
  • The hardest questions are usually the most loving ones.
  • Nobody should be pushed to answer. You can always pass.
  • Small rituals, repeated, change more than grand gestures.
  • The ritual works wherever people want to connect.

the ritual

every box, the same five steps

Whoever it’s for, a Lovelight evening works the same way: a candle, a deck of questions, and five small steps.

light.

Light the candle. Put the phones away.

2 of 5

draw.

Take a card and read it aloud. On a first night, start with the one-flame cards.

3 of 5

talk.

Everyone answers. Listen to understand. No interrupting, no fixing, no defending.

4 of 5

thank.

Say “thank you for telling me.” What is said here is never used against anyone later.

5 of 5

blow out.

Blow out the flame together. Each of you names one thing you’re grateful for.

the candle rules

  1. Light the candle. Phones go in another room.
  2. Read the card aloud. Everyone answers. Take turns going first.
  3. Listen to understand. No interrupting, no fixing, no defending.
  4. Anyone may pass. Say “not tonight” out loud and draw again.
  5. No ammunition. Nothing said here is used later.
  6. Stay curious. “Tell me more.” “What was that like for you?”
  7. Close well. Blow out the candle together and name one thing you’re grateful for.

    Warm up

    Appreciation & Gratitude · Levels 1–2

The Couples box comes with a suggested ten-week path, for couples who’d rather not choose. Five to eight cards a week, one flame first, three only when you’re both ready.

    a note on care

You don’t have to answer everything tonight. You only have to begin.

Every deck opens real doors. If a card brings up something hard, pause, breathe, and stay kind. If it feels too big to hold alone, stop, and talk to a licensed counselor or therapist.

Not a game to win. Not a test to pass. Never a replacement for therapy.

    be at the first table

Tell us what you’re waiting for. We’ll write when it’s ready, and not much else.
